Healing Your Mental Health
Therapy can be deep and full of light at the same time. Whatever brings you here — trauma, grief, loss, relationships, intimacy and sexuality, identity, belonging, personal growth, or finding your voice — I offer psychotherapy as a BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+ therapist who brings both training and lived understanding to this work.

Psychotherapist in-training
Hi! I'm Cindy.
I'm a student psychotherapist, training under the supervision of a licensed clinician, with roots in the Gestalt community spanning more than 15 years. Its focus on the present moment, the body, and the therapist-client relationship still shapes how I understand healing.
My path to psychotherapy wasn't a straight line. My undergraduate degree was in Justice Studies, which shapes how I see struggles — not in isolation, but shaped by the systems and relationships around them. Working across departments and cultures in the corporate world taught me how to bridge differences and build real trust — an attunement I bring to how culture and identity shape our connection in the therapy room.
My understanding of the body comes from years of dance, yoga, and movement practice, and from experiencing what it's like when movement is limited — through injury, surgery, or illness. This shapes how closely I attend to the body, not just the mind, in our work.
I approach this work with curiosity, not judgment — less interested in diagnosing what's wrong than in staying present with how your struggles show up, in your body, your relationships, and right here between us. That's where real change happens.
Therapy, to me, is deep and full of light at the same time — holistic, body-aware, rooted in the belief that we don't grow in isolation. We grow in connection.

Relationships aren't just where we struggle — they're where we heal.
As a psychotherapist in-training, I specialize in Gestalt therapy, focusing on the present moment to foster emotional relational health.
Imagine you've ever said something like:
-
"I know why I do this... but I still keep doing it."
-
"I feel disconnected, even when I'm with people."
-
"Part of me wants change, but another part gets in the way."
Many approaches apply the same structured toolkit to everyone. Gestalt therapy is a type of humanistic and relational therapy, which works differently — the path is shaped around you. We pay close attention to what happens between us, in real time, since how you show up here often mirrors how you relate to others. Tools and insight tend to emerge naturally from that. The goal is creating a relationship tailored to who you are, where change unfolds at your own pace.
My psychotherapy practice is grounded in the belief that true healing begins in the space between us. I help you navigate complex mental health concerns with empathy and a commitment to your personal growth and the health of your relationships

My Approach
I believe therapy can be deep, and it can hold lightness too. We'll go to the real stuff — however you experience it, whether that's clearly painful, something harder to name, something you feel disconnected from, or something you're not ready to talk about yet. I'm trained to hold space for all of it, at whatever pace or form it takes. Emotions often point toward what you need, what you value, or what's ready to shift — but that's not the only way forward.
My goal is to work with you where you are, and to guide the process at a pace that respects where you're starting from. I work with both the body and the mind, drawing on movement and body-based approaches alongside traditional talk therapy, because growth can happen in more than one way.
